The purpose of the Caribbean Students Association is to raise the level of awareness at the University of Miami and in the surrounding community of the cultural diversity of all Caribbean nations.

The objective of the Caribbean Students Association shall be to raise the level of awareness about the Caribbean culture and to promote unity among all Caribbean nations. This shall be done through literature, history, art, music, guest speakers, fairs, trips, and any other activities that will promote goodwill and a better understanding of our Caribbean neighbors.

UMCSA is affiliated with the Council of International Students and Organisations (COISO) at the University of Miami, as well as the Florida Caribbean Students' Association (FCSA).
